Hello, I am a History M.A. student at UMBC. I am pursuing the Public History track. I am interested in learning how to use history as tool with which people can reflect on themselves and their contexts to have a greater understanding and connection with the world around them. I interned at History Colorado, which was a fantastic introduction to museum work and interacting with a public audience. Much of my time was spent on looking toward the future of the state and the institution to find new and better ways to reach outside the walls of the museum to reach people in innovative ways. Even in my undergraduate research and writing I constantly looked for the larger ways that my research could have an impact. I am interested in history as an active discourse, thus my draw to Public History.
