I am a first year graduate student in Historical Studies at UMBC with a focus on Public History. I previously worked for five years as a Park Guide for the National Park Service at the National Mall and Memorial Parks. My time there included the opening of the new Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. During my research to prepare for interpretation at the new memorial, I discovered a passion for local civil rights history.
