I am a historian who is now training in historic preservation. My research interests have been in the history of the folk music revival (I have two books coming out next month: "I Hear America Singing": Folk Music and National Identity (Temple) and Roots of the Revival: American and British Folk Music in the 1950s (Illinois)). Now, I am looking to begin a career that emphasizes historic preservation advocacy--either on the ground or in the classroom. Currently, I am working in the National Historic Landmarks Program of the NPS revising and writing additional chapters for the Labor History Theme Study.
