I am an international education professional at UMBC. From working with UMBC's international student population, I observe that by living in suburban halethorpe, these students tend to be disconnected from the culture and history of baltimore city. I'm interested in ways that history can be used to connect them to baltimore and also encourage better urban infrastructure policy to establish a sense of place and community. I am also interested in ways that stronger cycling infrastructure can improve the cultural landscape and identity of urban spaces and the people inhabiting these spaces.
